Arrivano i verdetti del Sundance Film Festival 2015
E' giunta alla conclusione la 35° edizione del Sundence Film Festival 2015, la manifestazione ideata da Robert Redford. Come da previsioni, il vincitore è “Me and Earl and the Dying Girl” di Alfonso Gomez-Rejon.
"Me and Earl and the Dying Girl" si è aggiudicato ben due premi: sia il premio del pubblico per la categoria "film drammatici statunitensi" ma anche il Gran Premio della Giuria nella stessa categoria.
L’opera, i cui protagonisti sono Thomas Mann, R.J. Cyler e Olivia Cooke, racconta l'amicizia tra due adolescenti disadattati e una compagna di classe a cui hanno diagnosticato la leucemia, ed ha saputo strappare sia lacrime che risate.
Il regista al momento della premiazione ha spiegato:
"Questo film parla dell'elaborazione di un lutto, ma in realtà vuole celebrare una vita bella e un bellissimo uomo, che è il mio incredibile padre... per celebrare la sua vita attraverso l'umorismo" e poi ha aggiunto: “Voglio dedicare questo premio a tutti i giovani registi della mia città, Laredo, in Texas”.
