Grandi sorprese non ci sono state, a dire il vero: per il quinto anno consecutivo la serie tv commedia preferita dal pubblico americano è stata The Big Bang Theory, che tra l'altro vanta il cachet più alto per ogni puntata (1 milione di dollari a testa per i protagonisti). Il premio come miglior serie drammatica è andato a un'altra serie amatissima, ovvero Grey's Anatomy, mentre per il genere SCI-FI il riconoscimento è andato a The Walking Dead.
